My story
I thought I was headed towards a perfect life. From an early age, I learned to check off all the boxes that society told me to; being a grade A student and having perfect attendance till the end of high school, then attending an Ivy League university to study Fine Arts, then pursuing a career in design that included me founding my own company and showcasing my line in NYFW…
It was beautiful.
But despite all this, I was not fulfilled. I asked myself, “If I did all this, why am I not fulfilled and happy?”
Something was missing. Something had to change.
Then I had an experience that was the closest I have ever been to death. And to peace. At the same time.
My life turned upside down while giving birth to my twins. In a blink of an eye, it was a possibility that I may not live. A possibility to not hold my newborn babies. A possibility to not be where I was supposed to be as a mom, wife, daughter…most importantly, to be ME.
After “code blue” was announced on the intercom and doctors and nurses surrounded me, all I had was a blurry few moments to see my husband before they were going to take me to the OR for an emergency surgery.
I told him “I’m not going anywhere.”
I woke up in the ICU and was told I would need a second emergency surgery to bring my body to stability. All this when my body still hasn’t recovered from the C-section…and I haven’t even held my newborn babies yet.
The next few days were all uncertainty in the ICU.
All I could do is trust and surrender.
I had to heal myself to be me again.
I was already on the path to personal transformation; and this incident acted as a catalyst.
I was more motivated to create a life that was more meaningful and authentically me.
Then when I got into a car accident less than a year later, I was brought to my knees once again.
Two discectomies and a shoulder surgery later, my view of life started shifting even more.
Getting back to ME took building myself up from the bottom up;
physically, mentally, spiritually.
This time, picking up the “real” pieces of me.
On my journey to living my optimal life, I founded Ommahands, simple & non-toxic skincare made with ingredients that nourish and heal with tallow and tree resin extracts.
Skin health being only a part in a bigger picture of well being, I utilize all the tools I have gathered on my journey to harmonize the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual to create and live a balanced life.
As a coach, I don’t tell people how to live their life or follow XYZ steps. I am not your expert or your guru.
I will, however, work with you to help you see the innate knowing that is already inside of you by showing you what’s distracting you and creating noise.
Only you know your calling.
